Could all you experienced guys tell me if there is such a thing as a button press.  I am looking for a sort of lentil type/button type shape?  I know what I mean lol

I can recommend the Cattwalk button, it's the one I have. A nice press to use, and a nice range of sizes.

I make buttons in one of Martins doming blocks and they come out like half a lentil. Good enough to do several commision sets for bridalware in the past. Page boy outfit buttons too.

I'll do a tutorial if enough members wanna see it  ?

Trudi, Cattwalk presses are best with a guide base, they do an offer of a base and press for $80. Or get a Zooziis one, they have pins built in. Like anything, there are tricks to presses, but they are pretty easy to use. The Cattwalk site has tutorials for most of their presses.

I was looking at the catwalk & Zooziis - and I could see that catwalk offer a base - but I can't see from the site how that would help you line up the top & bottom pieces!

with cattwalk presses theres a pin that you line the bottom of the press to, tighten the screws and then when your pressing a bead you line the top up to the bottom by using the pin

Don't be put off because you can't visualise how it works, its really easy honestly.

You put the bottom part of your press tool in the base and tighten it, (really easy) then when you are ready to press you do that with the top part, because the base has two "sides" you can locate easily, you just need to make sure that the two corners line up.  It really is easy.  The difficult part is getting the right amount of glass but that comes with experience and practice with the tool.
