Hello everyone,

I recieved my first custom order! My neighbor was suffering from breastcancer a few years ago, so now every year she hands out small tokens of the pink ribbon to friends, collegues and family. And now she asked me if I could make some beads for her. She knows that I'm not really that good yet, but she doesn't care :P Wants to support me with my hobby anyway. I was glad to accept the request.

Anywho. I'd like to make something like the picture below, but I haven't gotten a lot of experience with colours (especially not pink!) so my question to you is: What colours/colourscombinations do you think I should use? The brands of glass that I have access to in the Netherlands (COE 104) are Moretti (effetre/odd lot), CIM and Lauscha (and dichroic 104).

(So I'd like to make something like this)

Any tips and suggestions are very welcome. I really hope you can help me out.

All the best,
Jeske

I think Effetre baby pink would be similar colour for the base bead. I've not seen a deep opaque pink like the ribbon but I'm sure someone else will have a suggestion!

That's what I was thinking ... I'm not sure how well it would work, but you could try reichenbach raspberry pink for the ribbon??

Hmm perhaps it is some kind of sticker or ink that they applied later on? I know there are so-called ceramic marker pens with which you can decorate beads...

Or you could encase Opal Raspberry in Rubino, pull into stringer and use that to make the bow.  That is definitely some kind of decal on that bead - you would never get it that precise in glass!

I wouldn't be suprised if the ribbon wasn't actually glass in a stringer, murrini maybe. But I doubt it.
NB. Do not touch hot rods of glass, it is stupid.
