Any advice on using Thompson enamels

Just wondered if anyone had any advice on using Thompson enamels before I take the plunge!

 I'm also interested in using these enamels more.....Would you mind telling who you've ordered them from in the UK.  I had heard they're quite difficult to track down!

Mine weren't from the uk, but frantz glass or delphi in america....i didn't realise that they were difficult to track down here?..

I can't seem to track down a UK supplier...C&R Loo in Europe stock them but i don't think they do online, just a tel no on there site.....unless anyone knows different

Jock's glass atelier in the netherlands sell them and cheap postage - Joyce is on here if you check the members and PM her.

Thankyou for that link...i've bookmarked it too now. will add though that if you check top right hand corner of their web page, you'll see a tiny writing that say.."site map" if you scroll down you can find enamels on there plus loads of other things you may be looking for..hope this is useful

They sell in smaller amounts, it is just they only show the larger sizes on there web page.Try giving them a ring.
I bought the sample pack which is a selection of most of there colours. I attended the course by Teresa from Lavender creek and we used enamels on the masks and goddess beads, not had time to try them yet, so watch this space.

I have had enamels for ages, but started to PPP with them just lately. I bought the tut of JC Herrell and Margaret Zinser http://www.jcherrell.com/Tutorials.htm .They had tutorials about enamels in The Blow magazine (every number of 2009 had some of them if I remember correct).

Here is a tree bead I decorated with enamels, stringerwork and Beady Sam`s frit. I have not shown it before because of rotten holes, and the pic is not that good either, but I kind of like the tree. I need more practise that holes stay buckered while I am melting the enamels in!
