Just pondering who has one of these, they look very interesting esp as I get sore joints.

I do, I get sore joints too!  But haven't used it too much!  Good for doing long tube beads!  Your mandrels have to be dead straight to use it though!   ;D

I have one - have used it for years especially for the large beads I like doing.  Good for applying lots of glass but once the glass is on the mandrel I have to remove the bead from the spinner to decorate. I have carpel tunnel syndrome - had the op on my right hand (fantastic) and now need my left hand sorting so this little machine does help. :)

I can't imagine how I would use one.  Probably just too old and set in my ways to give it a go I suppose.

So I guess you have to let the bead cool quite a bit before you take it off the mandrel to decorate it? I have been considering one too, as I tend to have a slight flicking motion when I spin, so I spend ages trying to even them up. Are they available in the UK now then? I looked a while ago but couldn't find any.

Hope you get your other hand sorted out soon  :D

Vicki - I remove the mandrel from the spinner with a pair of pliers - the mandrel is quite cool at the non bead end.  They are available from Bearfoot Arts in America - VERY slow despatch but they do say this on the site - something like 6 - 7 weeks and they are quite expensive too.
