goldstone chips - can you melt them?

Hi Guys,

On the arrival of Sarah's new E-book, just wondered, can you melt the goldstone chips which have a hole running through?

They're rounded off in shape but are they the same thing? not resin-y?

i used some goldstone beads to make stringer with. i heated them and dropped them in water so they shattered and them melted them into transparent. probably not the correct thing to do but it worked ok and nothing cracked but only put it on the surface.
try it, why not, see what happens...

I had a string of goldstone , and I have melted them and used them as encased stringers, no problem.

I have just run out and ordered a chunk tonight.

I had some blue goldstone beads & I put them in a bag & hit them with a rock....they melted & sparkled, but I felt a bit mean afterwards

I bashed my block of goldstone into little lumps....encased them in clear and pulled into stringers.  MUCH better than the pre-made stringers the goldstone was MUCH more obvious.

Ooh I've got quite a lot of goldstone beads in a box somewhere. Think I'll dig them out & try bashing them with the hammer    Thanks for the tip

I've done it too! Only thing is you don't know the coe (it's glass and copper). I've seen 96, Bullseye 90, and 104 for sale for beadmakers, at least you don't need to worry what you can use it with.
