There's some good info about annealing boro on the forum, like this:

or just put 'boro annealing' in the search bar (from the main page)

Have fun! :-)

If you were to list your kiln/controller, someone may volunteer to give you step-by-step instructions for any programming required?

Thank you Dietmar.  That's very welcome and helpful advice you've given.  It's put my mind at rest and I feel happier about giving it a go now.

Annealing is not soo critical with boroglass. This glass can forgive more thermal stress, because it builds less stress than COE104 glass. Running the COE104 annealing cycle twice is like taking a too cold bath twice. It's just not warm enough. If you hold the boroglass at 550?C for 30 minutes you may be able to anneal the softglass beads as well. But be aware, this temperature is close to the "first contact" for COE104 to become slightly sticky.

You cal collect much longer the boro-items before annealing. If you are used to work with soft glass and batch annealing and keep the habits of keeping warm (=flame annealing) for boroglass, then you should be on the safe side, eaven without annealing.

Hello!

I am about to venture into using boro tubing for the first time.  It'll probably be 10mm diameter with 2mm wall, or perhaps smaller.

I've been searching for info about annealing cycles and I read that I can use the same kiln program that I use for my 104 beads.

Is this okay?  Do I need to put the boro tubing through the kiln twice using the 104 cycle?

I really hope this is do-able because I panic about setting the kiln  ;D

Many thanks for any help!

The Wiki was a a lovely idea, but new readers can find a wealth of valuable info by simply simply searching the FH forum. I found this indispensible when I was learning.

Sadly now the forum is so little used, it may be too much work to keep the Wiki active as well.

Hi Y'all!

Where is the content of the WIKI gone?  ???
It doesn't matter which topic I open, all have the same content: NONE. :o

Is it gone or are there still traces left exept for searching the WAY-BACK-MACHINE...? :(

It wold be sad if we'ce lost all that valuable information. :'(
Is there a chance to get logged in and maybe getting rights as an administrator? I would like to help keeping the information for the future and adding my knowledge.

Hi, there are not so many posts on here these days sadly. If you do facebook there is a group called EU lampwork destash, might be worth a try. Good luck

I cant remember how to but traffic is so little on here these days sadly, I just look in now and then for old times sake. This is where I got all my early education!. On facebook there is a group called EU lampwork destash, you can freely upload photos there and many FH members pop up there. You need to join but its the best place I know of to destash, if you dont do facebook maybe ask a friend to upload for you? Or offer on Ebay but get a friend to put a message on that group directing to your ebay items. Good luck

It?s been a while since I visited FH and even longer since I lampworked. I?ve decided to clear out some of my lamp work books and would like to offer them on FH. I?d like to be able to post photos of them but I?ve forgotten how to do this. I don?t have Facebook and hove a limited grasp of all things IT.  Can anyone suggest a way for me to upload the pics?
