I am keen to try some mica flakes, so headed on over to Pegasus, but I see they're away at the moment.
On Ebay there are some that are specifically for using with glass, but there is also coloured mica for craft use. I presume this shouldn't be used with glass - is that correct? If so, can I just use any plain silver or gold mica flakes, or how do I know which ones are safe for use with glass?
Thanks for your advice!
I bought some from Warm Glass for fusing and I use them in beads, only a few at a time. No idea how they differ from Pegasus flakes though, think the Pegasus ones might be a bit smaller?

I believe they will be available at Flame Off.
You can't use just plain mica flakes unfortunately. I don't know how you know which ones work with glass.
I also bought 'gold flakes' from warm glass. you have to keep them out of the flame - encase quickly with a blob. I've only used them a couple of times - PM me if you'd like me to send you some to try.
Gloworms will have a choice for you at Flame Off and now on the website http://gloworms.org/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=10 (http://gloworms.org/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=10).
Awesome, thanks everyone, I think I'll be patient until FlameOff.....(can't wait, my first one!)
Will any one have shards for sale. Preferably bright colours please.
Ruth
We'll have shards on the Gloworms table but not especially bright colours.
I can make some in advance for you to choose from if you let me know which range of colours you are looking for
