Title: Alternative to dipn etch resist gel
Post by: Irene on October 26, 2014, 02:35:30 PM
I just tried the Dipn etch and it worked fine, I was going to use the resist gel I had bought as well but I think it is something wrong With it, its too stiff, it has dried out in the bottle I think so it was impossible to use. I heard of using nail polish as a resist, but can you get the nail polish off again? any other suggestions to what to use as a resist? I might get a New bottle of gel, but if I have to pay for the shipping I Guess I won't bother.

You just peel the nail polish off afterwards - comes off easy. Or I guess you could use nail polish remover (acetone) instead, but it really does come off easily enough. If you want to paint on fine lines, use a nail art brush or fine paintbrush instead of the normal applicator. (Poundland here has nail art brush sets at the moment, and you can always trim them down even finer with scissors).

Use a bright opaque colour so you can see it easily!

I'll go and buy myself a bottle of nail polish tomorrow then, my first nail polish since  was 14 years old!

PVA glue works as well, peels off really easily afterwards.

PVA glue, is that ordinary "hobby glue" used in Schools and so on? I'm Norwegian and not familiar With the term PVA glue...
