I have had a request for a piece for a 10th wedding anniversary and the customer has asked if I could incorporate tin into it (probably not the glass bit but in the findings bit of the piece), any ideas? I am not sure about tin toxicity etc etc, any alternatives out there that could pass as tin? All help and advice would be very welcome (I am sure if I said I can't include tin he will be OK with that, but he did ask). :) Thank you lovelies for your help. :)
You should be able to find some Cornish tin charms (often just little drilled discs) without too much difficulty.

Thank you :) Don't suppose you have any idea where I can find some, I have done quite a bit of searching, but to no avail so far!!!! Also am I right in thinking that pewter has some tin in it? I have some tierracast clasps that I bought and have never used! :)
Pewter is 85 - 99% tin, so that might do if you can't get neat tin.

You can buy scrap pewter from your local scrap/recycling place in the form of dented tankards etc at the moment we are paying £8 a kilo. Its very easy to cut and shape and can be melted and cast into cuttlefish or delft clay moulds to great effect, we do it all the time with the students. I think pure tin may be too soft to use in jewellery, pewter may be a better bet. Best of luck whatever you do.
