Hi all, it's been a while since I was last here, and although this might seem like an advert post, it's not, I've just got super excited about these so I thought I really should share.
A lady who knows my hubby from way backworks in an opticians, he was moaning to her about not being able to get prescription didys in the UK. She said she would look into it.
We have already had our local specsavers looking into it, but nothing came of that.
So he sent her a pair of our fit overs and my prescription (from specsavers) and a couple of weeks later a pair of prescription didys dropped through my door.
Iv'e just tried them out and they are fantastic, I was a bit concerned as a few specs places have got my glasses wrong due to my Stigma, but these are crystal clear and work brilliantly.
They are based in Abingdon, near Oxford. I am waiting for the name of the company, but she says they will be £250.
The best bit is they don't slip down your nose when you get warm! :)
I had a long conversation with Specsavers when I got my varifocals and they didn't do them at the time, but they went to a lot of trouble to find that out for me.
In the end I got the clip-ons that Martin sells and I really like them.
Our Specsavers spent a lot of time looking into it for us as well, but nothing came of it sadly.
That sounds fantastic Sooz - I too have prescription Didys and wish I had had them years ago :) I got mine from vision express -they managed to get the lens easily once they searched for 'Ace' not didy's - you will love them and wonder how you ever lived without them !!!
I'm getting that already :)
