Title: Boro frits
Post by: ajda on September 04, 2013, 12:46:14 PM
I'm experimenting with frits and wondering if people would be willing to share any favourites - individual frits, blends, interesting combos, etc. Here's a very simple one of mine: a base of NS-45 Blue Moon rolled in NS-131 English Ivy (fine to powder) and encased. These three beads were worked reasonably quickly in a more-or-less neutral flame - the pair on the right on 1.6 mm mandrels, the one on the left on a 5 mm mandrel and poked/twisted with a clear stringer before encasing. I like the subtle shades of blues and greens. The big hole bead also has some bright metallic silvery blues which I can't capture with the camera...

I have never used boro so I'm' afraid I'm no help, but they are beautiful!
