A reminder that the entries should be new work.
So, the colours for the month for September 2013 Nile Green (this will be Effetre 591214, we had '212' a few years ago so if there is any uncertainty we want the glass with the part number 214 ;) ). Come on let's see your creations!
Good luck!
Um Krysia, 591214 on Tuffnells site is listed as Opaque Pea Green, which is very different from Nile green, which is an opalino??
Hiya
Right go for the Glass numbered as 591214 which according to tuffnells is Pea.
... and when I get my glass out of storage I shall relabel my stash ;) ::) ...
The good news is that Pea does interesting things with rubino
:-\ On the Effetre wiki here http://www.frit-happens.co.uk/wiki/Effetre there seems to be two Nile greens, the 214 and also the opalino which is 216.
Maybe the 214 has been renamed to avoid confusion!
I think I may have a rod of 214, off to have a look.... :)
Yay! I have two rods of the Pea 214! No Rubino though - think I can feel a Tuffers order coming on . ......... ;D
It's Nile Green both as an opaque and as an opalino!
212 is lime green or pea green!
See Miriam's chart http://www.facet-design.com/wp/kleurkaarten/effetre/
Kazx
it does nice stuff with EDP too, if you have any of that

That's what I have too Kaz!
In line with last month, should this month's challenge be "make something with any glass you've got that's vaguely garden pea coloured??" ;D ;D ;D
I had some Nile Green lying around, so I'd figured I'd try making something and enter this challenge/contest as well ;D
Soo... can I enter? *have never done this before*
It's not brilliant, but I'm getting better each session. Also, it was a nice way of practicing dots :) (I have very poor dot-controle due to unstable hands, unfortunately)

All beads are just nile green and opaque brown. I think brown and green combine well :) In the front you see a pair of earrings that I made with implosionbeads in these colours. In the back you can vaguely see some basic beads with a lot of dots. I'm sorry - I'm not very good at phtographing beads yet, haha.
It is fun to have this challenge to direct my attention to. It is a nice oppertunity to try out colours and techniques that I would not otherwise have tried. Thank you for that :)
Yeske love the earrings and the beads in the background, the colours do go well together :)
Jeske, I think you are very hard on yourself. I think you are producing remarkable work for someone who describes themsleves as relatively new to beadmaking.
awwh thanks. I actually am really proud of these results. It's just that I get very self-conscious seeing all of the perfect beads made by you all ^^ (I'm always very impressed by the posts in the gallary)
Hurrah! I have one rod of the right colour! I think I'll be having a go at this ... :)
My first ever entry to the colour challenge!
Clear / silver black / pea green.
Hope these are OK... my first big "matching" set of beads, and my first big heart focal!
NB: They still need to go through the kiln annealing cycle, hence the large amount of bead release still visible... can't wait to wear them!
well done for your first set
A lovely first set
Great colourcombination! The clear and silverblack make this colour look softer than it is :)
Thanks Pauline, Miss Softpaw and Yeske!
I was really pleased when I saw the colours reacted like that - On some of the beads there's a nice black line where the green meets the black, and the silver comes out in the middle!
I've just put them on for my first ever batch anneal (and first firing in my new Paragon SC2!) so hopefully they'll make it through the night ...! I found all the info about the firing cycle on the forums, so thanks to everyone who has been so generous with their information!
PS I was a bit scared of the SC2 and then I put it on the surface next to my bread machine and realised it wasn't much bigger! :)
Nice set!
Well done on producing a set.
A pair of mini knobs!

Thanks Trudi, thanks Pat.
Those knobs are so dinky - they kinda remind me of mushrooms!
Bloops I have grass green, petrol green and lime green but no pea green :(
Wow, beautiful beads (and knobs) :) Just found a short rod of 214 labelled Nile green so will see what I can do with that. Off to check my pea greens for a correct number. I'm easily confused!
lovely beads and knobs :) I dont have any of these shades of green so just going to watch and see the complete range of beads produced by people .
Only one short rod labelled Nile green and of the right number, no pea green (it's on it's way :) ). First day back at the torch for weeks and not feeling over inspired as I don't particularly like green so this is what I have, etched to see if it made it more exciting but I quite like the strata effect.

Looks lovely etched Sue !
Sue, love those! Yum!
Thank you :) Green just doesn't do it for me, but these look better etched!
Nice Sue!!
I'm liking this colour a bit more now that I have seen the lovely beads on this thread! It does look especially nice when etched.
I made an Autumn Leaves lentil bead yesterday, I rarely make focal beads but was quite pleased with this one. My rod is the 214. Sorry if pics are a bit large.

Also used it as dots on Christmas tree decorations, I like the way it gives a small central dot too.

:)
Love that Christmas Tree decoration - you might just have given me a wee idea with that (don't worry, not for selling!)
Very pretty Christmas dec!
Here are my 214 beadies....

Quite like this colour etched.
Lovely beads everyone, the Nile green looks great etched.
Here are mine... I was clearly feeling in a dotty mood! Not sure about the one on the left, the other two are not too bad I think.

Vicky - I like the one on the left - the others look a bit busy to me! :)
Thanks Jane :) hmmm you might have a point there - I think the beads are reflecting life at the moment, it's been a manic few weeks!
Kaylee - hope it's been busy in a good way! They're great dots but I think I have a hankering for the simple life! :)
We don't seem to have stopped for about 3 weeks, some good, some not so good.
Actually you've made me think - I hadn't noticed before but recent beads really have been a reflection of the busy-ness of life at the moment - I reckon it's a sign I need to work on calming things down a bit ;D A simple life sounds fab ;D ;D
Vicky x
Just some simple lentil swirls from me.

Playing with a new press. Seems much deeper than the one I was borrowing.
