I got a second hand Dremel with flexishaft and have just used it to clean my beads from Rays recycled glass course and it is amazing, wonderful, fantastic. It wizzed through them in a quarter the time it normally takes, did a better job and it was fun, happy dance
sorry just need to share
Lol, good aren't they!
Out of interest which dremel is it?
my bead reamer from tuffers died so in desperation I used my proxxon on the lowest speed, and like you I whizzed through. I didnt use it to start with because I thought the rpm would be too high but not a bit of it and its stopped bead cleaning being a chore
Off to try mine - I thought it would be hard without a foot control, obviously not. And the bits on my Tuffers reamers (I have several of the blue ones) have gone again and are getting temperamental.
I didn't buy a dremel in the end as I became so confused with the available models and which would be best BUT I am so totally fed up with cleaning by hand and tuffnells keeps falling out! Which model Proxxon or dremel is every one using?

I love mine too (it really belongs to hubby), not sure which model it is. I also have another small drill bought from Lidls which is excellent.
Which one to buy?
After a good deal of internet research, I bought the Dremel 3000. It cost about £30 on Amazon, and I got the 3-jaw chuck for about another £6 because I don't like fiddling about with collets.
Later I got a flexidrive from an ebay shop (new) for about £20, but find I mostly use the drill without it.
I'm delighted with it, it has so many uses.
hi, just been to look, mine is the Dremel 300 with a 225 flexishaft
When my first Dremel died after many years of hard service I quickly bought a second one, too quickly as it turned out as shortly after my local B&Q had a half price deal on a Dremel kit with a flexishaft and some other lovely toys. Anyway I now have two dremels both hung up and plugged in ready to use one in the garage and one in my craft corner indoors. I have a foot switch from watts clever on one, does not give speed control as a proper foot pedal would but I find it very useful none the less.
I also have the drill press adapter for it that I use for cold working by fitting a wide diamond disk and setting the tool at a comfortable angle
I've not yet tried to bodge up a cooling system but by going slow and dipping the piece in water frequently have not had problems yet. with the dremel held firmly I have both hands free for holding the glass. Works well for me until I need and can afford something better.
Carl
P.S. I have no connection to the company honest. :)
Thankyou, so Dremel seems more popular than Proxxon, I can see another purchase coming on.... :)
