Seeming we have lovely weather and living by the sea, here is my efforts for this months challenge - they are freehand as I don't have a press/bead roller :(
All made incorporating Ivory & these are my first attempts on the sea theme & using murrini :)
I do hope you like them & pictures are big :-[

I went to a glassy open day a fortnight ago, where I met Nikki. She had made a lovely bead swap bead with coral. I told her that it has the same reactionary qualities as turquoise on dark ivory, so I had in my mind to make a mixture of discs.
Well I'm not sure who told me that two years back when I started out, Nikki....but you can clearly see it doesn't..lol!
This, however, is my this months colour challenge entry :P

Sp many lovely entries already! I can see that this is going to be a popular challenge!
I played with dark ivory and shards yesterday, and made a focal and some matching beads.

Helen: love the triton beads.
These are all dark ivory.
I've decided I really like Gaia. Shame I only have 1 rod at the moment! Beautiful deep green-blue. Then there are Elektra shards over dark ivory pillows. I wasn't expecting them to come out like this and really like it!

Finally, these are all a wrap of silver glass over dark ivory.

Notable: Boreas is on the right - reduces really fast and look what it did to the ivory!
R to L: Boreas, TAG blue realm, Gaia, Ossa, TAG deep purple, TAG Zeus, Notos.
I collectively called them Riverways.
Apologies for the cruddy photo. I just snapped this on my phone before it was nicked by my pug-loving other half. He's ivory (the pug, not my other half).

These are ivory glass with val cox Gold Coast Frit. I love the way that the Frit reacts with the glass to give deep blue and turquoise colours.

Light Ivory focal with an old knotty tree on it :)
Mark, you have demonstrated that the "don't put anything over ivory, it will look rubbish" rule does not hold for everything! Love those blue colours and reaction lines.
Speaking of exceptions to rules, brown is not among my favourite colours, and I dislike beige really quite a lot. So why do I love Dark Ivory so much? And one of my favourite glass combinations is ivory with transparent browns. I suppose it's that caramel-and-cream look.
Anyway, I made these last weekend; they are intended as a necklace component:

I had a commission to make some 3mm holed beads containing ivory for a necklace and bracelet - and got a bit carried away! I have a few left over ::)

Have decided I really do not like (my current batch of) turquoise with ivory. Fortunately my customer did.
There doesn't seem to be very many beads that I don't use ivory in at the moment. So no excuse to do post this month. But I will resist filling the page and show just this one.

A necklace I've just finished for my godmother. They're dark ivory and petrol green, and dark ivory and goldstone frit encased. All cored with stainless steel, and more stainless dogbones as spacers. The necklace itself is viking knit I made out of some copper wire I unwound from an old electric motor stator. Sorry for the fuzzy picture quality, it sort of matches the quality of my beads :/

Oh no, I made a (hopefully) lovely bead yesterday using an ivory shard and wanted to add but I am not going to be able to get it before midnight as it is being annealed and I don't have a pick :(
All the entries are brilliant though x
I agree all of the entries are fab and very strokeable!
another pic of my other challenge entry, the vessel is my first in ages, in squishy ivory, with some silver to make it extra yummy!

These are my first proper lentils, they are not very good, but will be better with more practice i suppose.
All are made with some form of ivory, i think mostly light, but im not sure it was unlabelled.
Unfortunately it is not in my kiln as I was playing at another lampworkers house so can't get it :( I will have a go with the next challenge. Hoping to be able to pick it up soon though as can't wait to see it :)
Ivory is my favourite glass.
I decided to have a go at making some company for my goddess beads this weekend, so this hunk is fresh out of the kiln :)

Forgot to say he is made from light ivory.
Yay, I have received a lovely message that had a picture of my bead so I can post it, thank you so much x

Ivory shard on black lentil (first go at shards and only second at swirls I think) saying that only about my 3rd goes at lentils as well so all new for me :)
All lovely! Sarah's round set, Madeline's canopic jar, and, as for the god.......................! also everyone else's.
Here's my contribution - some quick and easy beads and a coral and ivory button

I seem to of been ill for most of this month but I did make some ivory beads but have missed this challenge. There are some lovely things here.
I do hope you're feeling better, Julia :-*
Nick
Sneaking in here too.
A short while ago I visited the British museum to see their Ice Age Art Exhibition. A set of carved mammoth ivory beads where part of it. These are my first attempt at making my own version. Dark ivory with various surface treatments including bicarb and tumbled. I will try tea staining on the next ones.
