A reminder that the entries should be new work.
So, the colour for the month for March/April 2012 is Bright Acid Yellow (this will be EFFETRE 416). Come on let's see your creations!
Good luck!
Love this colour etched x
Oh Yuck!!! This should be an interesting challenge, Krysia you sadist you! ;D
Ha ha ...Perhaps you might see some beads to change your mind and inspire you ....
ha ha ha, I would love to take full responsibility for this one, but alas...
On the plus side Sean has plenty of this in stock.
I see a lot of beads with accent colours this month!
got this, will have to find it!
I LOVE acid yellow, hmmm wonder if it will go with Slytherin, not used that one yet. Foul combination? I'll let you know!
Inspire us Helen x
Hmm, wonder if I have a rod of that in the starter kit? Did make a bright yellow bead the other day decorated with some twisty frit, will have to check if it's the right shade...
I'll kick off with this focal - acid yellow with silvered ivory and blue chalcedony frit .. etched for a softer look!

Ooo its nicer etched.
Yes it's surprising the difference it makes!
I think I have a couple of rods of this. Might take them to flame off just so I can enter a monthly challenge. Hmm what colour will go with this?
Keeping it simple and just complementing it with some other colours.

Still working on persuading other newbies to show their work. Sometimes simple works.
Mark
P.s. besides I've got April to produce something more complicated.
They are really pretty Mark - what are you going to turn them into?
Ok, well I have to admit that this month's challenge has been good for me. I hate this colour, so I decided to make murrini out of it, rather than attempt a whole bead in it... and I have to admit I really like the end result! The silver on the bead is metallic in real life, and very sparkly.

Great beads Mark and love that Helen. It looks fab with black. I don't know why everyone hates this colour so much as whenever you use it you all make lovely beads. :)
aaaaceiiiiiiiid! it's Sunday I have a lickle drinky poos inside of me
Love those yellow murrini.
I tried to go the whole hog and use the yellow in all its sunny brightness...

Wow, Mel! Get the sunglasses out! Those are fab.
Helen it does look good with the black.
Mark, those beads have got to be a LGBT bracelet :D Love rainbows.
Trudi, your lentil is so calm beside all the rest.
Great start to the challenge, I have got only so far as getting out some rods and putting them beside my torch. ;D
I would never have thought about using it in murrini, but that works so well especially against the black!
Lovely burst of sunshine Mel .. we all need that!
And Mark .. who doesn't like a rainbow!!
Lovely beads so far :)

Newbie bead with swirly frit. Hoping the similar ones I made the other day will be better, but haven't been out to the workshop for a while due to nasty stomach bug...
Hope you are feeling better babyshoes, theres so many horrible bugs around at the moment.
Hope you feel better soon, Babyshoes. My brother-in-law calls it a bummy tug! Suppose he's kind of right!
Nick
Thanks! I'm over the worst of it - the really nasty phase only lasted 12h, thank goodness, but still feeling rather delicate and eating bland food. Back at work though, sick days are expensive!
Urgh, nasty. I made a dodgy batch of chilli a couple of weeks ago, not good! Glad you're feeling better.
Sunglasses at the ready?
Acid Yellow with white and Leaky Pen....

If you want to see it with Slytherin you'll need to head over to the monthly theme challenge (I decided they could go in as a book reference).
I have been playing with daffodils - the petals are acid yellow.

Very nice daffodils Carrie.
Dayga
Those daffodils look fab Carrie. :)
Wow Carrie, those Daffs are fantastic - you'll have to start giving lessons!!
Glad you like them - they started as a personal challenge 'cos my Mum loves Daffs and I wanted to make something for her birthday. Got the hang of them just in time to give her a lovely pendant yesterday with Daffs on one side and Pansies on the other - forgot to get a picture of it though! The bottom one is a ring topper for me and the others are a commission for someone for whom Daffodils have a special meaning.
Carrie xx
Love the daffodils Carrie :)
I agree Carrie, those daffodils are very special.
Hi kaz,
Love the first of your pendants. The colours are wonderful.
Not sure why it's posted in the colour challenge thread. The yellow is obviously very subtle. ;D
Mark
Perhaps Kaz's gorgeous eye candy should be in the Gallery instead? ???
Oops wrong thread!

Yellow has never looked so good!
Finally got some acid yellow, and got to play with my new triton shards from flameoff!
(http://i1088.photobucket.com/albums/i325/purple_cobwebs/acidyellowheart.jpg) (http://s1088.photobucket.com/user/purple_cobwebs/media/acidyellowheart.jpg.html)
I am still trying to re-learn how to make beads with my new kit, I found that the gaffer frit seems to react with some of the yellow and green colours from effetre giving this effect, (the one on the right is etched)
I also had a go at doing the yellow in a murrini but seem to have difficulty melting them in on the dual fuel torch.

I think both challenges are March/April, Helen.
Nick
Coz I only started this one mid march and flame off was at the beginning of April I have made it a march/april challenge.
I've got to say those daffodils are spectacular!
Here's one of mine...acid yellow encased in Zephyr, which seems to calm it down quite a lot:

WOW Peggy WOW
Thank you Trudi...steady on there girl!
Love that Peggy!
That's lovely Peggy, and the acid yellow seems transformed into a pretty primrose colour which I much prefer!
love it Pris!
acid yellow, like coral and others can be very different batch to batch, there was a rather nice primrosey one about for a while, dont knwo what its like at the moment, havent bought any in ages.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/madelinebunyan/6034953969/
not posting as a pic for the challenge as its not new, but it shows 2 batches
Pris, that's beautiful.
Yep, the few rods I have of this are the more primrosey ones. I made wigwag pillows and a garden gremlin.

I got a bit carried away with yellow and made these, acid yellow with one of the lauscha yellows

I think I need more practice with the roller - some of them could be a lot better (I also seem to have forgotten how many I made of each size :-[). The encased floral is also acid yellow. Sorry the photo's not up to much.

All absolutely gorgeous.

Lovely ducks and honey hives and lovely everthing else too.
Always so much to see here.
Am I too late?? Please ignore this if I am!
I am a bit acid yellow challenged, but tried to make a focal based on a Lorna Prime tutorial...as you can see, it went a bit wrong and I haven't had time to try again. But I thought I'd show it anyway! :)
