Title: How much frit?
Post by: anditsinthefish on January 12, 2013, 02:38:26 PM
I am trying to work out some prices and figures for my business plan. I was just wondered if anyone knew on average, how much frit on bead uses when rolled in it? Or how many beads you get out of say a 25g bag? :) Thanks xx

It's a bit like asking how long is a piece of string! Depends on how big the beads are and what look you want to achieve.

Easiest way would be to weigh out a gram of frit and see how many average-sized beads you get out of it...then multiply by 25! :)

Or if you roll the beads in a "spoonful" of frit put all 25 g in your usual receptacle make a set number of beads then weigh the left over frit to work out how much you have used then divide by number of beads made  ;D

And don't forget to allow for all the frit you spill onto the floor, pour into your lap, and muddle up with another blend by accident.....

You could weigh an average size bead and assuming the 5% rule of applying frit to a bead work out how much that weighs. Maybe up it to 10% to allow for spillage, etc.
