My MAXI just suddenly started shouting at me ... reading an error message (can't remember the number, I panicked and turned it off), and the temp was showing at 700+ degrees .... anyone had this problem before ?

Ooh, how old is your maxi? I have just ordered one.
I've had it for at least 4 years now ... it was one of the original test models. I have never had a day's trouble with it until today. They are a great workhorse :)
