The theme of the month challenge is jointly sponsored by Tuffnells Glass (thank you Martin et al!) and Frit Happens!
Each month the lucky winner, chosen by a random number selector, will receive a £20 gift voucher to spend on-line with Tuffnells. The draw will take place at the start of december so make sure you get your entries in before midnight on the last day of November to be in with a chance to win the goodies!
Please note that the entries should be new work.
So, the theme for the month for November 2012 is Night Time.
I like this theme, I have tried and tried to make a bead that resembles the stars at night but never seem to get it right. This is a reason to try again :)
Who was it did that wonderful minitut with silver leaf and so on? That would suit this theme well. I'm just off for a look see if I can find it.
here it is.

Thank you ;D
Yes, post your picture in the tread then at the end of the month I will try again to get my cat Leo to pick a name. Then I post the name on this thread and send that person a PM asking for their email address which I then send on to our sponsor who will then contact the winner directly.
Have a look through some of the other monthly challenges.

Thank you, I think I'll need it!!!!!! I would love to make it work, it looks beautiful. I was so disappointed last time, but I
think I should have got it hotter.
Nick
Nick are you sure your silver foil/leaf is genuine? where did it come from? I had some fake stuff that just made everything go grey a few years ago.

I got it from Tuffnells, Kaz. It works OK with SIS etc. I'm still pretty much of a beginner (even more so when I tried the tutorial), so I expect it was me! I'll have another go - I'd love to get it right.

I got stung for some gold leaf off ebay last year that turned out to be absolute c**p. Still makes me cross just thinking about it.
What no pictures yet ;D
OK here goes hard to take a decent picture and quite simple beads - not sure whether they would be better called space ;D

Cor those are gorgeous!
Nete
Thanks Nete - just black and silver foil encased :)
Any old black Sue...?
I used Effetre which it is why it looks purple - the spacers are purple - but you could experiment with any dark colour and see what happens ;)
Thanks for sharing that sue. I'll give it a go.
Oooh, some lovely night time beads!
Here is my attempt. Made on Monday and photographed this morning!

Ooh Gaynor, that is yummy!
Night time beads are probably my favourite, so it had to be a moon bead :)

Here's my entry
It's a hollow big hole bead and I have used these amazing antiqued copper watchface beadcaps made by Kay.
It's nice to be able to enter these challenges now!

How broadly are we allowed to interpret this theme? This is something I made for the colour challenge, but thought it might qualify here as well since you would only use it at night? Worth a try anyhow...

Having just had some encouragement in the newbie section, I now feel all warm and fuzzy and brave enough, so here's my entry (top right):

That's a good starry sky in the top right, Magpie!
I was having issues with over-diluted bead release this weekend, so neither of these are quite what I wanted as I couldn't give them any more layers.
This one's a mountain and tower on a hill under the moon.

This was going to be inspired by Claudia Trimbur-Pagel's girl at the window beads, but I didn't add the window :P

All wonderful so far, I especially like Kaz's and Gaynor's - gorgeous!
Mine is fairly humdrum, but it's the first time I've tried encasing silver foil (it looks better in real life).
Meteor Shower. Silver foil encased in Cobalt blue with silver wire stars and meteors.

I had no luck at all with the Galaxy Bead tutorial - grotty brown and grey sludge! I've given up for now.

Demented Magpie.
Well done. I shall PM you in a mo.
Thank you to everyone that's entered this month's challenge. Ta - Krysia
Congratulations Kathy, well done!!!!!!!!! :D :D
Nick
Well done Kathy, lovely beads.
... Aaaaand I'm back at a computer which, unlike me, remembers my password.
Blimey, how's that for beginner's luck! There were such beautiful beads entered by the rest of you.
Thank you!
Now I have to think of what to spend it on, after I went on a bit of a spree at Tuffnell's last month.
Congrats Kathy - lovely bead, too! :)
