Post by: beadybop on October 14, 2012, 11:46:45 PM
Can anyone advise me please.

I have won a used from usa bobcat on eBay, it comes with red and green hoses which link narrower than the ones I currently hane hooked up to my minor..

There are two adapters on the hoses which slot the hoses from thecoxycon and propane.  I think they wont fit though.. Any ideas...

Best thing to do is look up a local welding supplier near to you and give them a ring to see if they can crimp fit gas hoses. If they can, take the whole lot over to them and let them deal with it. Shouldn't cost more than a few quid - they can probably do it while you wait and then you'll have the confidence of knowing that it has been done professionally. I always let the welding man deal with all my torches - he's got the proper crimping machine. If you're anywhere near Leicester I can give you his name.

Your local LPG distributor, or caravan/motorhome supplier, welding supplies, etc should be able to supply adaptors to suit.  Your pipes may be just a different size, or they may even be a metric size - who knows without measuring them.

Don't forget the flash-back arrestor.

I think this is how all the bobcats come, I was thrown by it when I bought a second hand one but then discovered that's how they're meant to be.   I can't remember exactly, but I think you just connect with lemon crimps (or jubilee clips) as normal, as if you were connecting straight to the torch.
