Title: Is a jubilee clip safe here?
Post by: firedinglass on September 23, 2012, 12:14:08 PM
I 'm changing torches and the new one needs 8mm hose.At  the propane  tank at present , as supplied I have by the flashback arrestor the 6mm hose with a jubilee clip.  I' m assuming I can connect the new 8mm hose with a new jubilee clip to the same outlet and tightening it appropriately will be perfectly safe. I know some of the hoses supplied now have a bolt nut on them but I won' t have this on the hose I have. I will obviously check for leaks.  Lisa

Only if the outlet is a tapered fitting designed for accepting different diameter pipes.  Trying to fit a larger hoseto a smaller nipple is not an acceptable practice.

As the flashback arrestor doesn't come in different sizes I'm assuming it's a standard size, I guess i'll have to wait until i take the hose  off... :-\
