Title: Glass Ear Plugs!!
Post by: Jennie Lamb on July 20, 2012, 08:14:52 PM
Hmmmmm!  I had some customers in my studio today who want to commission some glass ear plugs???  I don't have a clue about this...they are the plugs that people wear instead of earrings with flared edges....has anyone done this?  I am thinking on it, it seems feasible but wear to start  ???

Are they the ones that stretch the ear?  There are lots on this site (some of them look quite nice!)

Jamie's been making quite a few spiral ones recently. They work well in boro and are fairly straightforward  :) There's a bit of a discussion thread somewhere in the boro room on LE if I remember correctly, but if it helps I'll dig out a photo of one of his. The difficult thing seems to be getting the size consistent.

My DD uses this website.  She has different sized large holes in each ear.

There are some lovely teardrop shaped boro ones.

I have been making these out of hard and soft glass. I have a set of calipers that I set to the final dimension I want and its easy after that

There are some curly fake ear plugs on the first link - might get those, would give the boss a heart attack if he thought I was stretching my ears.
