The colour of the month challenge is jointly sponsored by Off Mandrel (thank you Sean and Gillian!) and Frit Happens!
Each month the lucky winner, chosen by a random number selector, will receive a £20 gift voucher to spend on-line with Off Mandrel. The draw will take place at the end of the month so make sure you get your entries in to be in with a chance to win the goodies!
So, the colour for the month for APRIL 2012 is AMBER - LIGHT, MEDIUM OR DARK. Come on let's see your creations!
Good luck!
Kazx

Kaz - correct me if I'm wrong - but aren't the entries meant to be made in response to the challenge rather than just pictures of things made in the past?
Apologies if I've misinterpreted (and lovely beads everyone).
They are just a bit gorgeous ;D love all of them and can't wait to see more.

:-[ Me too...ooerrr, ...are we just so enthusiastic that we can't wait! Perhaps someone will clarify this, happy to delete my previously made beads if need be. :)
If this IS the case, then it might be worth restating it when starting the thread each month, just as a reminder.

Dark amber and some sort of dark frit which doesn't show up very well.
Made Monday. ::)
I don't get much time to torch so if it's only new beads then I wouldn't be able to join in much, but I do try to make sure they're 'fresh' beads rather than ones which have been shown everywhere.

You're right George - though clearly the word challenge has got lost somewhere along the way. From May onwards, I will restate the objective and we can take it from there! I love seeing all the lovely beads though ;D
In the light of new information, I have killed two birds with one stone and created this fiery lady, who has an amber top ;)!

Hades does web, works best on transparent glasses, but not all of them do work, and you have to get it HOT HOT HOT ;) :)
Yay, for once a colour that I have :D Lovely beadies so far, both old and new!
Not sure which amber this is, as it was an odd rod I dug out yesterday with no label!!!! (At least I hope it's amber LOL!!!)

Ive been making leaves this week and decided to try a few in Light amber, ive added teal spacers inbetween . The larger leaf has a bit of frit added as I wanted to see what effect it would have . :)
Those colours go so well together x
Gaynor: could that be CiM maple? It's a little browner and less orange of an amber.
I had the same thought! Etched BHB discs with intense black: mid amber, amber and dark amber (which is a bit too dark for this application).

These rounds all have two tones of amber in each: light, mid, amber, and dark. Except for the middle bead which has the darker three.

Hi Sue, they look great. You are welcome, only got to use it once, really liked it though, but knew I would be too busy to use it again until after my first fair this weekend. I have the flat diagonal trio and the one for off mandrel similar to that too, should you be thinking of trying more. Janet x
Thanks Janet. I'm quite pleased with these. I might try the others another time. Hopefully yours will be with you in a day or so, posted last night. Thanks again x
At last I have something to enter.
This little lot is called 'Little Piglet' cos they were done from Corina Tettinger's Groundhog Day tutorial. The decorations include amber and goldstone. I love the way the ivory makes the edges of the black go fuzzy, but I can't remember which black to use to keep crispy edges (I would have to call those 'Crispy Crackling' if I got crispy edges I suppose!) Thinking up names is almost as much fun as making the beads (well a bit almost).

mid amber with a red and yellow added for interest, nothing clever or as creative and skilled as the others here but I think it works okay

What's happened to this challenge? Nobody has announced a winner or set a new challenge! I've been following the challenges, and was thinking of posting an entry in the next one, if I could.
I have just done the draw and the winner of this challenge is jammie - you will hear about your prize from Off Mandrel shortly.
I'll also send a runner up prize to noora - please PM me with your address details.
Congrats to the winners!
