I used a tiny touch of dichroic in the shoulder of this heart. Will I get away with it, like using frit, or is it likely to fall apart any moment now?

Oh that is soo pretty!
Jeannie x
Thanks Jean - I just hope it stays pretty in one piece!
Julie, I did the Teresa Laliberte' course and we did a heart with a touch Dichroic, it has been fine and that is over a year ago.
So I suggest that you go girl and sparkle away ;)
Ooh, that's good news Rita!
Was the Dichro on glass, on copper or was it dust type.
Dichroic should be ok with any glass in pure form. pretty bead btw
The heart is lovely! I have 104 dichro, it works fine on beads 104 glass and boro dichro for boro. I have seen other people use it on beads for sale, including some of the strip dicro in the middle of hearts, so it must be fine. Janet
We did it straight on 104 glass
What was the dichro on to start with? It's a coating, so it can be put on any coe of glass. Or not on glass at all, with the copper foil.
(I have some in 104, 96 and 90 after the Warm Glass sale...)
I use dicro in hearts all the time, so unless you've used a lot of incomopatable coe 's it should be fine.
Gorgeous heart too x
I did a little gasp when I saw that.
Soooo pretty. Gorgeous colour.
I hope it makes it...
I should have said, the dichro is a fused 90 strip, hence my apprehension! But I've used a tiny bit so I'm wondering if I can get away with it, like frit?
Let's hope so Julie, as it's a lovely bead :)
If it doesn't survive, I can send you a bit of Bullseye in similar colours so that you can recreate the beady heart x
I reckon it will crack in time then. Get the polorisor on it.
Depends on the size .. I made a bead with 104 glass and used some of the BE 90 very thin dichro stringer about 3 years ago and it's still intact!!
But if I were you, I'd keep hold of it for a while just incase!
Thanks for all the replies - its still intact, for now!
Trudi, do you still sell the 104 dichro?
Sue, thanks for the offer. I do have a few rods of Bullseye and have ordered some Schott clear so I've got some other stuff to play with.
I have a few bits kicking about - pretty sure I have a purple. If you PM me Julie I'll check if I have any others in the morning for you!

Re the bullseye ... I have found with the sizzle sticks, if I melt in flat I always get scumming (no matter how careful I am) I have to leave this as a raised design ... with other coe90 glass I'm fine! Anyone else have this issue??
Yes, same problem here, unless I encase it first. I have been using the copper dichro with Bullseye and that works reasonably well.
I get it even if I encase it .. at first I thought I'd caught it in the flame too long, but I tried it again with the same result. So I'm just thinking it doesn't like it >:(
So I just use other coe90 if I want to melt it flush!
I got my stringers mixed up and fused a 10 cm piece of effetre twisty into a 20 x 20 cm piece of bullseye and it popped out after a week, leaving a very neat gap!
I had some 104 Dichro but I can't remember where I got it from, never tried 90 although I have some of that too. Lets hope it survives it's a beautiful bead.
That's interesing as I have a slab of Bullseye dichro and no Bullseye glass (only had one rod and used that up) and didn't know whether to chance it with 104 - think I will wait until I have a stash of Bullseye! Such a lovely bead - hope it continues to exist in one piece! ;D

Would you like me to send you one of the Bullseye dichro stringers that I've pulled from the copper stuff? It'd probably be after Xmas now though.
Hi sue, thanks for the offer, but I have some of that, very kind if you to offer x
