Title: Seed Bead Embroidery
Post by: RSimmons on August 23, 2011, 03:22:25 PM
This is a seed bead piece that my wife did recently. I made the cabochon with silver glass from Striking Color and she worked the rest of the magic. It's about 3 inches tall.

Both are strikingly beautiful. How clever of her to marry someone who could make beautiful cabochons for her.

Wow, they are stunning.  I couldn't do either, and as for hubby ... well, let's not go there, his talents lie elsewhere (teaches meditation,  for you with the mucky minds)

She's a smart cookie! I encourage her seed bead habit and she picks out extra glass colors for me when we stop by Flametree. A pair of enablers if there ever was one.

I love beading too but have never tried that style.  Lovely

Thanks very much everyone. We have a lot of fun working together. Here's another one made with a Striking color cabochon.

Does your wife do the fial designs Robert or is that a collaboration too?

The designs sort of evolve as the piece is made - we never draw anything out except the outline. She does most of the design but I get called in for consults on color choices and some of the textural features. We work together a fair amount but I give her about 95% of the creative credit.

Thanks
Robert
