Title: My new bobcat
Post by: binty on June 29, 2011, 09:34:50 PM
So I've had a couple of goes, and I think we will eventually become very good friends, but by golly it's different.  I think i've got my neutral flame ok, but the flame "fingers" are taller on one side than the other.  I cleared out the holes with the wire that came with it, and it was all level for a little while, but next time I lit it, the same thing.  Is this something to worry about?

That sounds a bit odd. Mine has very even fingers.
I did read that they can take a while to settle down, that you have to adjust the oxy/fuel whilst using it sometimes, maybe that's the problem.
I think JulieHB has one and may have written about its peculiarities.
I seem to have quite a well behaved one and if it did require adjustment to start then I didn't actually know I was sorting it  :P

I've just come across this tread about Bobcats

Haven't read it all but there might be something in it to help you.

Mine would constantly get deposits on the torch face, causing an irregular flame. Simply sweep off with a pointy tool or the end of your mandrel.
