Title: Batch annealing Cim opals
Post by: Amber on April 18, 2011, 01:06:49 PM
I know colours like Ming, Poison Apple, Electric Avenue and Chalcedony need to be annealed slightly differently...on my normal schedule they come out opaque and mottled which is a pretty effect but not quite what I want  :-\

Does anyone have a foolproof batch annealing schedule for them? I say foolproof, because I'm still scared of programming my kiln, so I'm talking step by step instructions!  :D

Cheers!

Ohh - I just use my normal schedule for these (I've not really used Ming) and I've not had a problem with these. Perhaps your kiln is running a little on the warm side. You could try lowering the temp slightly and increaseing the soak time??

i just use my normal schedule too. The only problems I've ever had with these has been cracking if I encase them.
