Title: Silver Coring Help
Post by: Ilona on December 16, 2009, 11:41:10 AM
I am about to order my mandrels and silver tube for coring.

Julie as been a true angel and lent me her bead liner and sent me a couple of silver core tubes.

What I am wondering is, should the tube move easily inside the bead, or should it be tight on the tube before coring?

I have a selection of big hole beads and some are made on the 4mm mandrels, but the 5mm tube is loose.

I just don't want to order the wrong size - help :)

I like the tube to be slightly loose in the bead - the only times I've broken beads seem to be where the tube has been too tight or the bead is slightly wonky.
