Anyone know where there is a tut for a seed bead tassel type thingy. Basically I want to use seed beads and the tassel come out of the end of a focal bead. Hope you understand what I mean?

this might help but if you are using strands of sead beads do each strand sepperatlly and knot top and bottom ... than put into clamp and tie together therwise you will have lots of sead beads on the floor :(
I love tassels and find it hard not to add them to each and every focal bead ::)

This is a construction that works for me - the necklace is strung on beading cable/tigertail with a loop of beads below the focal, to which a tassel of fringing can then be stitched - to make the loop, imagine putting a few largish seed beads on a cable, folding the cable in half and putting both ends through the focal bead ;)
Then you thread a needle and stitch through the beads in the loop, adding fringe in each gap. You can go round once (as in the second pic) or several times to make it fuller and more tassell-y (as in the top one) and you can add 'branches' to the fringe as you go along too.

Thanks for that Lynn. I like to sometimes put seed beads and lampies together. I'm trying double spiral twist at the moment.

I wll give both methods a go, but I think I want the fringe to "disappear" into the bottom of the bead, there again looking at Lynn's work I might try that as well as its so darn gorgeous. Thank you Lynn for the lovely photos of your jewellery, if I was only half as good at this I would be happy. ;D

If you have a focal with a largish hole or a generous dimple at the bottom, you can use a small loop for the fringe foundation and stitch the fringing before stringing the focal in place, then when you add the focal most of the loop will disappear into the bottom of the bead ;)
