Title: Mouths!

I'm trying to make some lentil faces - bt I'm no good at mouths!!!

Snowmen are fine - and santa is sussed - bead covers all - LOL but I'm stunped for others! Any suggestions appreciated!

I use a curved dental pick. Works a treat.

or add a red dot and plunge it so they look all surprised

Red dot and cut in half with a knife - good for fish lips!  :D

I've sometimes used a kitchen teaspoon for a smiley mouth and turned the spoon upside down for a grumpy one. See if you like the effect and best of all, it won't cost you anything. Depending on which spoon you use, you get a different mouth.

I bought a pack of miniture wood carving tools that has was shaped like a smiley mouth

I use woodworking tools too. 

But for lips, that's another story.  One of my favorite mouths, is to make two tiny dots with a bit a space between them for the upper lip and one larger one for the bottom in between the two.  After you partially melt them in, then take a teeny tiny stringer and pull the edges out to make the smile.  I think often we use too bright of a color for lips, because of the rod color limitations or what reacts against ivory, but if you color mix a bit and you want it a bit muted, it isn't quite as glaring as our typical bright red.
