Hi Everyone.
Do you know where I can get hold of a 'cup warmer' (not USB) that I can use to dry PMC. It seems that I can get them on any American PMC site but not on any UK ones?

I've been looking myself without any success I'm afraid, I'll keep you posted.
Try Amazon or e-bay. Seem to be plenty but all using USB port to computer. Just type in 'cup warmer'.

Erm, I was looking for something to keep my rose petals warm the other day, went to an end-of-line factory shop, and came out with a pie maker (like a sandwich maker, but round moulds for pie) - it'll be perfect for my purposes, not sure it would work for drying PMC as well? It was £8.........
After seeing a tip on another site, I use a melting pot (designed for melting UTEE/beeswax etc). It does a great job of firing small polyclay pieces too. Just rest them on a bit of polyester batting so the bottom doesn't go shiny.

I finally found mine on ebay - it was a homer simpson one just like this. The warming plate is ceramic and really well made and it is plenty hot

I didn't see you had also posted about the Simpsons ones!
That is the same one I have. It is ideal for the job so probably a wise investment even at that price. ALthough if you are lucky, you can find them cheaper on ebay too of course.

a lot of the USB ones also have a hole for an adaptor so you can plug it into the mains if that helps? I bought one for all of £2 on ebay and mine does have the adaptor hole :D
Doesnt get very hot though.
I just bought a cheap chocolate melter/fondue thing for drying things and warming off mandrel bits and rod ends - would that be any good?

Can you bung it on a radiator to dry? What else would be good to use?
I use a shoebox with a hole in the top and a hair dryer poked though the hole ( if that makes sense!) the clay then sits on a mesh shelf inside the box.
