Is Martins Reichenbach antique green anything like the antique clear that looks so lovely in everyone else's beads?
Cause I would dearly love to get my beady hands on some of the clear.
If it is different has anyone tried it yet?
Any photos at all?
Thanks, Julia
Antique green has got sparkly bits in it, antique clear hasn't.
Ohhhhhh! Sparkly bits!
I might get me some of that.
Mmmmmmmm.
Hi, I am going to bump this as I am terribly confused about these two glass. I have the antique green which has the gold sparkles but I cannot find the clear on the Olympic Color www site. Am I missing something?

Well sort of but not really. I need to know the code number for this glass as I cannot find it on the supplier's site. I have done a search with the word "antique" and also gone through the pages but I cannot find it.

Oh no, it all looks lovely and I can't possibly spend any more money right now on glass! Actually best I practice on what I have as still doing ALOT of learning, but it does look BEAUTIFUL! Next year Lotti, Next year, be patient! ::) ;D
ok, are you ready.
Antique green is clear with sparkly bits
Antique clear is green with no sparkly bits.
If you want later I can do pictures. Unfortunately I don't have the codes for the glass, the suppliers I get it from don't put codes on the labels. I have a feeling that this may have something to do with Rech as no one seems to have the codes. Possibly they give every glass batch a new number!?!
HTH
antique sparkle and antique green are basically the same thing ....like lots of glass different batches can have a slighty different look and sometimes behave differently ..but both the sparkle and the green are clear with sparkly bits ...
there is an antique clear and antique crystal which are basically the same thing ... clear......
no wonder you are confussed getting confussed myself now ::)
maybe ask the person who made the beads you admired which class and who supplied it :D
I actually just filled in Reichenbach 104 colours on the wiki - http://www.frit-happens.co.uk/wiki/Reichenbach ;D
Antique clear is L4015, antique green is L1012G. (These are Reichenbach's current codes from their website. Not sure if they changed them recently to have the L for 104 lampwork colours).
Well this is strange. When I search for L4015 on their site, nothing comes up . Maybe I need to phone them..
I solved the mystery. They call it aqua and the number is 4015.

No wonder the confusion!

*sigh* and there's me patting myself on the back earlier for not going mad this month, spending too much money on glass and getting told off by Lee. ::) I'll just have to tell him that I have an addiction to feed!!! ;D
My finger did slip alot on that website !!
You thought you had done well Fruddy. The postie keeps coming late so I don't have time to hide the glass from hubby :-\ How will I hide this lot . I know up my jumper and says my boobs have changed shape :o :o Do you think he will buy it if i promise he could have a feel later ;) ;)

sounds like a plan! I couldn't use it though - after 20 years of marriage, if I offered Lee the same thing he wouldn't bat an eyelid!! He'd much rather have a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich!!!! ;D
Arrrrgghhh!!!!
I couldn't stop myself - I was like a damn kid in a sweetshop!!! ::)
Just spent forty quid on Beadysam's Richenbach glass! To be honest I was quite restrained, I could easily have spent double that, but was too scared of getting shouted at!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

oh i had an 'end of dissertation' beady sam shopping spree as my reward! lots of raku, cant wait for it to get here :) i love antique clear too, got some at the flame off, gorgeous!
Heheh, I've been gradually sneaking in an additional bundle of some Reichenbach pretty much every time I've been ordering something else! It's cheap if you only buy one or two at a time, right? ;D
Love them, they're pretty and fun.

that's the problem - compared to silver and associated stuff glass is very cheap and so it tends to slip into the basket. And that is how come I have a huge boxful of rods and only about 2 hours a week to use them at the moment. I would have got meself in deep dark doo doo had I fallen for the Reichenbach. I do have some and I think the colours are sooo juicy that it is difficult to resist
Right then you lot - firstly, thank you for the orders ;) :-* :-* :-*
Reichenbach calls its colours Antic and Antik Green
L4015 - Antic -this is the lovely greeny one that looks fab etched
L1012G antik green - this is the sparkly one that I call Antique Sparkle
Now just in case you are interested, Ocean is L1012B so I would hazard a guess that the base for the Ocean and Antik Green (L1012G) is L1012 - Crystal Soft :)

Ditto Pat on all counts!!
I have bought all sorts of purples and violets recently but they haven't been exactly what I wanted.... those Richenbach violets of Sams just had me drooling! ;D
I'm hoping that wasn't the old Iris Violet. As lovely as that one looks on the rod it does have a tendancy to turn brown in the kiln in a non reduction type of way.
My Aunty did like her all the purples of glass collection necklace that I made her for her birthday and a lot of those were rech purples

Really BAD LADY I don't need you to show pics of etched. I will have to hide the etching stuff down my pants otherwise to hide it when it arrives !!

Not that one I think but if it does turn brown, I have some charcoal granules bought from a pet shop (and normally used for fish tanks I think). I may be wrong but I think that if you put some in a pot in the kiln it changes the atmosphere to a reducing one by absorbing some of the oxygen. That is if the door of the kiln is shut tight and the bung hole shut. Anyone any other thoughts?

I am sceptical that that will work. I have had two out that haven't gone funny and they were in the same environment as two that did.
Let me know how it goes though.

I agree, this was really not helpful at all. I have had to hide my purse so I can't use my card, and these sorts of pictures are just torture! :) :) :) :)
sooooooooooo pretty though!

Sorry*Runs away and hides*
Wasn't me who bumped it though.
I have to admit to a spending spree too, but not glass for once! My torching stuff is still put away till studio space gets sorted.
I been on the Seasalt website. Haven't bought myself any new clothes all year! Now I will have something nice to wear on Christmas day. Something that doesn't have little scorch marks all down the front.
