Title: flower power
Post by: turquoise on June 15, 2008, 07:51:17 PM
Hi, any tips for tricks for making flower patterns on beads, just simple ones really. I have ago today and they looked rubbish. I also like the raised flowers on beads too.

Any suggestions welcome. ;D

Very simple flower type pattern.... put a circle of dots, either 3 or 5, melt them in, heat the centre and poke then heat again and the dots should look like petals.

Raised flowers.... circle of dots, I usually stick to 3. make the dots of an opaque glass then add a blob of a clear or transparent colour on top of each dot, heat a bit, being careful not to melt flat, take a razor tool or some sort of blade and put a crease down each petal towards the centre ( you might want to experiment with flattening the dots slightly first).Finish with a little dot in the centre.
