Title: Silver Cores
Post by: Hil on June 06, 2008, 01:35:53 PM
Hi Guys

Which is the best method for attaching silver cores?  Sticking or shaping with a hammer.

If sticking is a preferred method - which glue do you use?

Now there's a loaded question! I love the hand hammered ones, and I still haven't got around to it even though I do a lot of other silver work. I have started off with the two part cores, use a two part epoxy and find that people are happy with them, they look smart and do the job, but I do respect the hand done ones, and I do intend to get the kit.. eventually!

Hil, seems to be a matter of personal taste. I like the cores that i hammer but there are some stunning cores that have been glued around as well. search silver cores cos there is loads around and i did post a tut on how to do them a while back in tuts section.
have fun though i really like the look they have
