Well I've had a few rods of Effetre filigrano since I got my starter kit, but never really bothered to try them out, so what a nice surprise I had when I finally gave it a go!

I see Martin's got some in pink and violet - anybody tried them?
I'm also wondering how other people use this glass? Its probably a bit pricey to use on its own like this!
Very nice. I've been trying to get this effect with ordinary stringer, but it just melts in too much - maybe this is the answer...
Thanks for puttng the photo up,
Those are beautiful, so light and summery.
Very pretty! I love that light, wispy effect.
The filigrano cane looks great if you lay several bits side by side and make a twisty - but while I just adore the twisty it makes (lovely fine lines) I've yet to use it successfully!! It just looks too thin on the bead...
Julie - those are lovely :) - I really like the filigrano rods and bought a batch from Howaco where they are a fair bit cheaper and have a wide range of colours. I also love the blue goldstone filigrano - the effect is very pretty too!

Cor Julie - they're gorgeous! Love the "wispy" effect! ;D
very pretty Julie, I used mine on its own as well :)
How did you get on with the blue gold stone one Kaz, mine was so shocky, I kept it on top of the kiln & it went all over the place even when it was at the point my asbestos hands couldn't actually hold it it still went all over the place :D
Well I've got quite a few rods of filigrano that haven't seen the light of day since I got them over a year ago - your lovely beads have inpired me to dust them off Julie :) (I did use some goldstone ages & ages ago, & it spat bits all over the place too ::) :D )
Try a base of clear then a few wraps of this, same effect but a bit lighter on the old pocket!!
filigrano petrol green,
wiggly snakes!! the left hand one is over light torquoise,

Julie MMM MMMMM MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMm deeeevinneeee
If you haven't got any filigrano but want to try the effect you can make coloured stringers that are encased in clear glass :)
