Title: how to join fused glass pieces
Post by: mandykerr on August 22, 2014, 08:13:47 PM
Hello everyone,

I have made a series of dichroic glass pieces that I want to join together to make a cuff bracelet. Currently I have put them together by gluing ribbon to the backs, but I am wondering if there is another more substantial way to hold the pieces together.

Thanks in advance, Mandy

I bought a bracelet blank a few years ago, I think there was a choice of styles, but it had a series of flat metal tabs between links to glue cabs onto.  I'd have thought ribbon would very soon flex off?

You could drill holes with a diamond bit, and join them together with wire jump rings.

Or use glue-on bails, either bought or made from wire, and link them together with jump rings.

Or go round the pieces with stained-glass copper foil, wire and (lead-free) solder, like this:

Or make a solid metal cuff from a strip of copper, and attach  them to that.

Do show us the result!
