Title: 96ishCOE coloured powder on 104COE beads
Post by: Beansprout on January 09, 2013, 01:06:26 PM
I have bags full of  96ish (I think) COE glassblowing powder (like ground up frit-) similar to enamel powder left over from when I did glassblowing at uni.

What do we think about using this as surface dec on beads made from 104?

(I seriously have like massive bags full of this stuff.... if anyone wants any give me a pm xD)

Hi

I'd use it the same as frit - no more than 5-10%. Give it a go!

Should be really intense colours, I believe, so you wouldn't need much - I'd give it a go over cheap clear - see what happens.

If you want to part with some, I'm sure several of us would give it a try  ;)

do you know what make and colour it is? im still a blower and love playing :D
also i think theres a 5% rule isnt there? so a thin coating should be ok, but one way to test is make a bead with the powder on the outside and smash it gently, if the colour comes away its a no or incase it, its safer that way :)

I believe a lot of frit has 96coe in it so you should be fine.
