I used to have a spray that I bought on eBay that you could use as an alternative to soapy water - less messy and quicker! Can't find it as haven't tested for ages and can't find on eBay. Does anyone know what it is called and where I can buy it....think I've found it, does anyone use thishttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Everbuild-P18-Gas-Leak-Detector-Spray-400ml-/221044083540?pt=UK_DIY_Materials_Plumbing_MJ&hash=item3377410b54#ht_1808wt_689
I've got a bottle of ph detector fluid.... it's yellow liquid in a clear bottle with a big red ph on the front :) It works really well!
Looks to be the same stuff I got from Plumb World. They also have it in Screwfix if there's one near you, or any camping shop / caravan shop will probably have it. I didn't get on with soapy water, couldn't find the leak; this stuff found it first time. All this 'look for bubbles', this stuff blew a massive bubble, like kids with chewing gum!
I didn't get on with soapy water either. Nearest screw fix etc is about 30 miles so it's the Internet then!

No Plumbworld, B&Q, Homebase etc? Most places that sell plumbing stuff sell it.
Bit out of the way here, nearest anything like that is 45mins! Unless you want to hire a deck chair, go in a boat or have an ice cream!
Maybe they would sell it at a chandlers? I thought you might have one of those near you?
