Title: My 'apprentice'
Post by: garishglobes on July 10, 2012, 01:06:28 PM
I seem to have gained an 'apprentice'  :D :D

He's Jamie, my OH's son, 21 and currently completely glass-obsessed. I've been showing him how to do a few things but mainly, he's learned by experimenting and practice plus a lot of Youtube   ;)

We've just collaborated to make wineglasses to celebrate a family wedding:

and this heart is his, too:

Apart from the fact that he uses my studio space (he's usually very careful to ask before spending 5 hours in there!! Plus, he is amazingly good at tidying it up occasionally :D ), I'm really enjoying having someone to bounce ideas off. He's coming up with all sorts of things I'd never have thought of, as well as challenging my glass knowledge!

Outstanding! I really love the wine glass and a set must look totally stunning IRL. I suspect they may dominate the conversation at the family wedding!

Is he small, could I take him in a fight? Would he go down easy if I were to mug him for that heart do you think?
