Title: Does silver black etch?
Post by: The Tartan Trout on June 08, 2012, 08:29:45 AM
As it says in the title.
I have made myself a silver black and white pendant and much prefer white etched but not sure what will happen to the silver black. If not does clear nail varnish over the not to be etched areas work?

Thanks :) x

I haven't tried etching silver black but I do use nail varnish to mask areas I don't want to etch - it works fine.  Just let it dry properly.  I use a kitchen scourer to remove it afterwards.  :)

Hmm I have never etched it but instincts tell me the silver black would not be silvered anymore. Mask it with nail varnish or a sharpie pen left over night to dry would work  :)
