Title: The Double Helix 'Luna's'
Post by: Madam Steph on April 11, 2012, 01:15:42 PM
Does anyone know if there is much/any difference between DH Luna 2 and DH Luna 3
(except that there doesn't appear to be any more Luna 2 for sale anywhere)?

Thanks

My experience says they're both as bad as each other but maybe I should give them another try :P

Please do, Kaz.
I can't get anything whatsoever with DH Clio, but I can with Luna 2.
The bead on the left below was my first attempt with it. I have used it since and it makes very pretty colours:

I love luna, but I prefer Luna 2 to be fair! You can get it from Double Helix at a good rate!

:) that does sound good - did you have to pay a lot in customs charges though? I have never ordered from US but would like to order a few small items like murrini, just not sure about the customs.

No Customs charge at all.
It was below the £18.
The glass was on offer $10 per 1/4lb so I had half a pound.
The P&P was $11.25 (or $11.75) can't remember off hand, so in Sterling, the whole deal was £20 incl P&P

Ah, thank you, that was an excellent price then. I didn't know about the £18 bit, off to do a bit of research!  :)

Just to let You know that the customs limit was lowered to £15 X

And a little warning - I got charged because my postage pushed the cost over the limit once. It wasn't a glass order - annoying and a bit cheeky I thought.

Blimey - I always thought that postage wasn't included in the total for customs purposes.  That seems a bit naughty.

Thanks, Trudi. I had forgotten that.
I am still under the impression that the P&P isn't included in the estimating Custom charges though.
Don't they estimate it on the cost of the goods written on the green form?

I think if your purchase value is over they include the postage costs to work out the tax ... but don't quote me on it
