Title: Dremel flexishaft problem
Post by: Madam Steph on April 01, 2012, 11:59:44 AM
Sorry if this is in the wrong place but it IS glass related as I'm having to clean my beads.

For quickness, I have been using my Tuffies battery reamer, but last week it transpires the O/H knocked down my 3 reamer bits (it came to light as I found the one that is too big on the kitchen floor, and the one I DO use, typically has disappeared into the ether  :-[
I just got my Dremel out, found a collar that fits another bit (that is too wide on the shaft for the battery reamer.
The Dremel is going boldly, however, no power is going through the flexishaft.
When I put it away last time, it was working perfectly.
Any ideas, what's going on here anyone, please? I have a whole bowlful of beads to clean  :'(

Can't help on the Dremel, I'm afraid. Have you not got any grit to clean with for now?

I have, George.
I use the grit with a mandrel first, then use a reamer.
Am I going over the top with the cleaning out?

Unless it's transparent beads you're cleaning, a mandrel and grits should be fine.  I only bought a dremel last summer, so used that for ages and it was fine.  Just hollows and trans beads that are a bit more difficult without the dremel.  If you bring it over when you're near, we'll compare it to mine and see what we can do.  ;)

<<<<<<<< Stoopid here forgot to screw the silver metal collett onto the Dremel end. Doh!!!!!!!
It's a long time since I used it. That's my excuse.

I will pop over this week Sue and spend some time if that's ok  :)
