Title: Running 2 oxycons
Post by: Ilona on March 22, 2012, 05:14:38 PM
I am thinking about buying another oxycon, as I have heard that you can make beads faster. What I would like to know is, is there alot of difference from running 1 to 2? enough of a difference to make me want to buy another?

Oh Yes  ;D I got a ssecond one at Flame Off last year and it is just great. I am a bit of an impatient type and I do work quite large so it makes me happy. I have found encasing easier too as I seem to be able to get the clear gloopier (well in he time I am prepared to wait!) I am running a Minor by the way.

I absolutely agree I run a mega minor off two oxycons and it makes a big difference. When I am teaching I have minors running on one each because I think that its better for beginners if things are a bit slower, in fact I often have a HH set up in case the minor runs away with someone.

I have two on a minor as well and would never go back to one it makes such a difference. I do tend to work on the large size a fair bit of the time but even with smaller beads I tend to have them both on as I get limited torch time and I can work faster

Brilliant, thank you all for your input. It looks like I will be getting another oxycon, and hubby agrees after I told him what had been said :)
