Title: Peach opaque
Post by: Madam Steph on October 08, 2011, 07:07:13 PM
My favourite colour glass is Lauscha Peach Transparent.
I may have overlooked it somewhere but I can't find a peach opaque in 104 coe from any manufacturer.
Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

I've looked in vain for a long time - the closest I could find to peach was butter pecan, but it is possible to layer to get the colour you're after.  Or perhaps mix glass to the right shade?

On LE there are a couple of threads that suggest mixing white with coral to get peach.

I'm reluctant to get into bed with Butter Pecan Sue, as it's on it's way out, but I may have a go at mixing a la Helsbels suggestion.

I will also take a look on the Bullseye Glass on the Wickford, Essex website.

Nah, it's not on it's way out.  It's just going to be less available!  :'(  But I have a coupla pounds anyhow, mwahaha.  I'd definitely go for the mixing, I know that marshmallow over coral layered gives a good peach too.

If you can get hold of it Effetre Sunset (Special) is a really really good deep peach (though it is sort of streaky with some white in there) but if you mix it with white it could be just right. If I have time tomorrow (don't hold your breath, lots to do) I'll give it a go.

I really don't see much difference between butter pecan and ginger. you could try playing with that and mixing it.

Really?  I'll have a play with that tomorrow too, sounds interesting, thanks Vicki x

I have Ginger (love it) but i dont think it will make the shade I'm after, but I do have some Marshmallow and one rod of Coral, so I think that's the way forward for experimental purposes.
I have never seen Effetre Sunset (Special) neither seen it for sale, but if anyone has any to spare I would be more than happy to buy from them.
Thanks for your suggestions, everyone.
FYI, I returned to the Bullseye Glass site, but sadly nothing there peachwise.
Some lovely Butterscotch, Salmon Pink and some brilliant Khaki Transparent, though

Have you looked at Devardi? I have some glass from them and at least one if not two shades of peach. The rods are very..........er..........handpulled! Chubby one end and slim at the other. They may have improved by now as it was quite a while ago when I ordered.
