Title: Waterfall Silver Glass
Post by: Fruddy on August 12, 2011, 04:42:18 PM
I was fortunate enough to be given a couple of rods of this glass.

I am not sure if it is one of the TAG glasses, as it doesn't say on the label, just that it is an R2 Silver glass.

It is a wonderful pale yellow green on the rod, shot through with very tiny streaks of electric blue.

When I try to melt it, unfortunately, it bubbles and scums terribly.... I have cleaned the rod, nipped off the end, heated it way back in the flame, but still no good.

I have made two beads out of it and, whilst the colours are wonderful when reduced and encased, because of the boiling, it spoils the beautiful colours.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this glass and, if so, what am I doing wrong?

With thanks.

R2 sounds lie a Rocio number.
