Striking it doesn't. Reducing, nada. All I have is how it looks on the rod - white.
Mine goes pinky coloured as I work it, the more it's in the flame, the pinker it goes. But I'm on a minor, don't know about a hothead, but I would have thought it would be the same?
Scarlett - are you talking about Tongue Pink???
You need to let it reeeeallly cool and then reintroduce it.
Infact, if you keep on doing it eventually it turns out burgundy, only happened to me once at one of Julie (Lush)'s courses and that was with a silver glass. It does take some time to change and just when you think it is never going to happen it does. I love it. :)
Scarlet, just keep working it. Like Rachel says, cool it then reheat and it will strike, it WILL strike.
It loves silver glass, and it loves silver foil or leaf too, honestly! Make a bead, roll it in a scrap of silver leaf, burnish it on, then back to the flame and heat all over. :)
Thanks ladies.
I shall have another play with it tomorrow.
Just seemed to take forever to do nothing, it was nearly running off the mandrel I let it cool, gave it a roll in my bead roller, stuck it under the desk to check it was cool and wafted until I got bored.
I need to see all these lovely colours you keep mentioning Julie.
Send me a rod or three and i'll test it for you Scarlet ;) :P ;D
I got a salmony pink out of it :)

How about NO! :p
So glad it's not just me that can't get this to work...
I have had a play with mine and I get a range of pale teracotta pinks out of it. If it put it back in the flame and get it too hot again it goes back to white! I have made one today and wrapped it in foil, then rolled it in my ribbed beadroller......hope it turns out ok when its cooled!
