Unfortunately there is no bottle of bubbly at the end of this one for the winner :(
Anyway, as in my last post, let's say, for instance, we did proceed and do our version of the SC2 type kiln, one made here in the U.K. (AGREED, by assembling bits from around the globe but, I guess that's just the way it is nowadays).
Let's say, for talking sake, that it did happen after all...... ???
what dyer think would be a good name. I think you lot got it bang on with the MAXI and MAXIne :-*, so what about this one.
Think SC2 but not SC2, think us and what do you come up with?
My fav at the moment is Boudicca....erm..... let's have me then. ;)
Of course, just for talkings sake obviously ;D
Midii and Midas
Mini :) :)
Robbie and Robin
or
Alex and Alexis
or Minnie (like the Mouse :P)
Samson and Delilah
And I had my heart set on a maxi-mini in pink...(You had better still be looking at that!)
As for names
SuperCube (which is a play on the SC but also the bead cube, assuming of course it is relatively cube shaped)
Portable Paragon Parody (plain silly and uncalled for but I have to)
I'm going to have to go off and think of something a little more sensible, I don't do sensible often.
Edited to add something more sensible...
Nessy - if you start saying sc really fast it almost sounds like nessy and nessy is the loch ness monster so it could be the green kiln :)
Atlas (cos that's just the way it is nowdays ;D) and Aphrodite (just because)
You are thinking of victory, Lee, but I'm thinking of lust, love and passion (probably because i would lust for this kiln ::)):
Romeo & Juliet
Minx - I just think it works really well with the Maxi and Maxine ;D If you choose one of our names, do we get a free kiln? :D
Minx (pink) and Manx (blue) :o :o
Minx, love it ;D
Lee,
for me it's a done deal
HESTIA
Hestia personified the fire that was burning in the hearth of every home. All families were pouring sweet wine in her name and dedicated her the richest portion. The hearth fire was not allowed to go out by any family unless it was ritually extinguished. Hestia herself was never leaving her residence, the sacred mountain of Olympus.
Hestia may not have had a public cult, but she was always worshipped in any temple, regardless of the god it was dedicated to. All Olympian deities respected and loved Hestia because of her kind, forgiving soul and her discrete character, since Hestia never participated in any disputes or wars
Vesta was the Roman version of that - I like Minx, too. How about the Vesta Minx :)

I like how Lee avoided the question there :D
I like Minx, but with a maxi, midi sounds appropriate..
I also thought of Bead Cosy but I guess it's not being aimed at just annealing..
I like Minx, however, I did used to drive one (a Hillman one, not a Kilncare one I might add!)
Vesta - isn't that a curry in a packet? I think I'll be able to think after I've had dinner [not curry].
Enchilada
(as in the whole shebang....)
Right gang keep em coming.
Just to P on a couple of ideas before they develope.
Vesta is already a make of Turkish glass kiln so that one is out I'm affraid and we have just stopped making a Hobbyfuser Midi and I fear there may be a little confusion with that one.
But like I said, keep em coming (and Lee presses "post" without the slightest reference to THAT question ;D )
Fifi and Fofo
(two little trolls I read about in my first ABC book - Fifi is the she, Fofo the he, if I remember correctly)

;D ;D Funnily enough dawn, we did, some years back, get asked to make a kiln that could rival this new kiln that had appeared on British soil.
The kiln was the Brennofen Sierra and this kiln was actually the forerunner to the Evenheat 360, which just happens to be the twin brother, but not related, to the SC2. This was about 4 or 5 years before I clapped my eyes on the first SC2 over here. ;D Not sure which kiln was actually made first to be honest.....I do know the story of how come they are so identical but it's a long one and I'd probably tell it wrong which would no doubt land me in court....maybe when we next meet up I get the coffes in and attempt to get it right.
Anyway...
Our first attempt at making a rival to the Sierra which was a twin of the SC2 was called....wait for it.....the IMP (and again, not the Hillman version ;D ;D ) ;D ;D ;D Ooooh the irony ;D
I like Minx too. ;D
Minx gets my vote too, maybe Minx for a pink one, and a blue one could be......Mike?!? Don't see why not, my oxy is called Dave ;D
Venus
I'm your Venus, I'm your fire, your desire!

I believe that is know as a FAIL! - that's a reference right there....not an answer but a reference :p
Why not start naming kilns after fritters - the sc2 is light, compact but powerful (oh that's me) :D :D :D :D
Ok I think I can't come up with a serious answer so I may have to bow out of the running.
I like Zeus and Apollo
Bit bored waiting for air products and apparently I can be sensible.
Salamander or Mantis

Salamander, is that a spanish sausage? ;D ;D
( having FAILed once Lee now FAILs again by still making no reference to THAT question...well sort of ;D ;D )
how about the Maxi Cube and the Maxine Cube? So its sort of a cross between the bead cube and the maxi/maxine
not very fun i know...i'll keep thinking
I like Minx as well ;D
If this hypothetical kiln was ever produced, when, hypothetically, might it be hypothetically on the hypothetical market?? ;D
Only I would really like to get a kiln in the not too distant future (pennies allowing :( ) and wouldn't want to rush into a decision should other options be around the corner ;)

A salamander is a lizard!!!!!! (or more precisely a common name for about 500 amphbious spieces) duh! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salamander) and most fantasy genres have them as fire breathing, weather real ones actually do or not is another question
Pinky and Perky?
Or Kaida is the Japanese name for little dragon, I kinda like that - or Norbert after Hagrid's little dragon - I know there's no flames involved but 'tis still hot ;)
My soldering torches are named Big Bertha and Little Bob :D
Hotti . The pink one could be Hetti...or Dotti ;D
Leo and Leoni?
KC (as in KilnCare) and ...um...Tracey? (I think I'm getting silly now so I'll stop thinking.... :-X ;D)
Or KC and KT? (Katie)

Well, hypothetically speaking, if I were to have one here now, built, powder coated in Kilncare Supermarine Blue and on a work bench outside my office, but awaiting the controller, that we would be hypothetically having specially built, then I would guess that one would be starting a pretty rigourous test period in about two weeks....hypothetically speaking of course.
At the earliest, if all this was anything other than heresay, it would be at least 6 weeks before production models rolled out of the doors. Hypothetically speaking ofcourse.
Seriously, the SC2 is darn good for the money so we are having to approach this in a bit of a radical way for us to be able to have a chance. We are still costing it out but the signs are very promising indeed.
I'm with tinker...
Pinky and perky was the first thing that sprang to my mind when you set the question...
:D

You can't call a kiln Norbert, that's my torches name.
So this hypothetical kiln... not going to use the KCR1 controller?

erm yes....erm no ...oooohh.
The controller will be the software of the KCR1 but due to the cost restraints on this unit we cannot use the KCR1.
However it will be the same components made by the same company but in a different style, so yes it is the KCR1 but no...it isn't.
Like I said, there are many things about this unit that fly in the face of what we consider optimum.
So we have been faced with the challenge of how we make a design that we consider not to be optimum...well..optimum.
It's a long story and no doubt in the fullness of time I will divulge all to you guys but as I have said a million times, the SC2 is a tough act to beat but I think we have it.
Without saying too much about a kiln that is purely myth at the moment I can say that if it does make the shop floor then it will have a integral controller, based on the KCR1, mounted in the front panel of the kiln.
To make an example of us wanting to make optimum out of something that isn't optimum, we have stipulated that all components on the new controller are of the higher heat range to combat the controller being mounted to the kiln.. Well, that is if such a kiln exists in the first place. (
Lee takes one last sip of his coffee, thinks about bed and wonders just how long he can keep this charade going for).
Ahh I see or rather I don't.
Joining in this a little late, but I like the sound of Minx.
BTW, if this is a hypothetical kiln, could we pay for it with hypothetical pennies?
Carole
(who has a Maxi and is very happy with it)
How about Beaddicca like Bouddicca in a necklace. lol.
Ooh Kegan and Kenna, they both mean fire or born of fire. It's got the K thing going on for kiln ?
