Title: Best colour for flesh
Post by: ScarletLeonard on June 02, 2011, 05:42:16 PM
Anyone know which pink is the closest to a light flesh tone?

Want to try something out and if it works I'm going to need a lot of it so preferably a nice cheap one and not a special.

Butter Pecan would be my suggestion.

Hey honey I use butter pecan for my bosom buddies but it is not cheap! I guess you could try effetre pale pink but that can turn very pink and I guess you could use effetre light ivory. Butter pecan would be best I think.

I've tried other colours, but this is the one that seems to work best.  I tried butter pecan, but they looked like sunbed fodder  :D  It depends what look you're going for too, as mine is girly dolly the pink works well, Shahlaa's are definitely more of a skin tone.

Loving the look of butter pecan, don't want to go too pinky because it's more of a gothic look I am going for.

not to bad on price really, cheaper than ginger (my planned darker tone) which I could happily use all day. I know some pinks are very silly money.

Thanks ladies.

Have you tried mixing your own colours? It's fun...and can be cheap-ish  ;D

Sulis I have but I can only make stringer or (unintentional) frit.

Oh Chai I think I have some of that hiding in the drawer will have to take a peek.

Project kind of on hold anyway, just did a test bead and by the time I had finished I wondered what the mangled lump of glass was.

I've used effetre light pink but finds it can burn or go a bit darker if worked a bit, i'm also trying out effetre silver pink  255 at the moment, it's a bit more expensive but It's a nice flesh tone.

It was modelled on her - she plays with her all the time, and has a whole wardrobe of 'clothes'  :D  It's weird looking back at old ones, as they seem to be changing and evolving over the last couple of months.
My dollies are somewhat freaky now ....  :o
