Title: arg!! bead door fail!
Post by: helenfc on May 24, 2011, 06:13:11 PM
I got a bead door for my sc2, finally!! Arrived from warm glass, moved everything down to my boyfriends today, got everything out, screwdriver all ready to go. No instructions, but how hard can it be? Very apparently, there are no holes in the door for the screw bit to go through! I want to throw it across the room I'm so frustrated. Please tell me I'm missing something and I don't have to send it back and wait even longer for it! Really wanted a day at the torch tomorrow too. Please help! :( xxx

You can have a strop!  Quite justified by the sounds of it.  When mine first arrived the door clip was too tight so, following instructions, I loosened it thinking the bit holding the spring in is a screw.  No, it's a tiny plate with screw sides.  I spent days crawling under cupboards trying to find the darn piece.  It's still a bit tight, needs a bit of a shove to close, but I am not trying that again until I am well chilled.  Sometimes what shoulod be simple, isn't.

Glad it's sorted and glad we could help with supplying a bead door as your original supplier of the kiln couldn't. I gather you spoke to Veronica at 8.15 this morning so pleased we could help given the negative publicity we've had about kilns over the past day!  ;)
