Can someone please help ::) I last night tried to use a Helios Rod I think I was being a little optimistic..
I made a pendant which which turned out ok but then I tried to make 8 beads with Helios dots on to go with pendant. I obviously did it wrong How do I actually get the silver to look like Silver please as this morning they all look kinda dull. The bead shapes are ok but no silver I was turning up the flame but nothing has happened. I see all these wonderous items on here with the Silver and I really need to do this...lols...I mean its a real need.... ;D

Hi Vonnie - can't remember what torch you are using but it sounds to me as though you are reducing too much. If you want the gold/silver effect from Helios just waft gently in the outside areas of a reducing flame - I always turn the oxygen down - until you have the amount of shine you want and then into the annealing bubbles/kiln.

Well it does sound to be too much reduction Vonnie - try turning your oxygen down so you just get a yellow flame at the top of the blue and hold the beads in the outer reaches and just waft up and down 'til you get the shine you want.

Did you make sure the bead had absolutely no glow in it before reducing? That might help. x
