Title: There's a whole world out there
Post by: garishglobes on February 16, 2011, 03:08:59 PM
Reading about this guy just now:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsugi_Ohno_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsugi_Ohno_)

reminded me of this one:

http://handmade-glass.com/gus.html (http://handmade-glass.com/gus.html)

A history of glassblowing and the characters involved would be absolutely fascinating.

I would love to know how Mitsugi Ohno made that Klein bottle, it's an amazing piece of work, and it came to him in a dream, incredible. That's a very sad story about Gus, makes you think!!!

I'd love to see the pictures of that glass carousel! Sounds amazing, and his story makes you appreciate how lucky we are not to have to live in a country where people being 'disappeared' like that
